Cut Your Electricity Bill Without Cutting Comfort

Practical home energy audits for South African households and small businesses. We find the waste, you keep the savings.

Your Energy Savings Profile

Track your household's electricity usage, review completed audit steps, and see how much you've reduced your monthly utility bill since joining UpgradeNSave. Your account keeps a running record of every recommendation you've applied, from geyser timers to pool pump schedules.

Account status: Active — 3 audit steps completed this month. Your next scheduled review is in 12 days. Keep an eye on your email for reminders and new saving opportunities.

Step 1 of 6

Geyser Timer Installed

Your geyser timer is set to run from 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM and again from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. This schedule matches your household's peak hot water usage and should reduce water heating costs by roughly 25%.

Step 2 of 6

Lighting Switched to LED

All 14 downlights in the main living areas and kitchen have been replaced with 9W LED bulbs. Estimated monthly savings of 38 kWh, which translates to a noticeable drop on your next municipal bill.

Step 3 of 6

Pool Pump Schedule Optimized

Your pool pump now runs for 4 hours during off-peak hours instead of 8 hours spread across the day. This change alone should cut pool-related electricity usage by up to 40%.

Step 4 of 6

Appliance Monitoring Started

We've connected smart plugs to your fridge, washing machine, and dishwasher. You can now see real-time consumption for each appliance and spot any that are drawing power when they shouldn't be.

Step 5 of 6

Heating Behavior Adjusted

Switched from a 2kW fan heater to an oil-filled radiator with a thermostat set to 20°C. This keeps rooms comfortable while using less electricity during the colder months.

Step 6 of 6

Monthly Savings Review

Your next step is a full review of your last two municipal statements. We'll compare usage before and after the changes and update your savings dashboard with accurate figures.

How we keep your data and home safe

Your audit details, usage history, and payment information stay protected at every stage — from the first site visit to the monthly savings report.

Access control

Role-based access for every team member

Only the auditor assigned to your home and the support staff handling your account can view your audit report. Each login is tied to a named profile, and permissions are reviewed quarterly.

Data encryption

Encrypted storage for audit records

Your appliance inventory, consumption readings, and contact details are encrypted both while stored and while being sent to our tracking dashboard. We use current encryption standards and rotate keys on a fixed schedule.

Payment protection

Card details never touch our servers

Payments for home reviews and upgrade plans are processed by a PCI-compliant provider. We only receive a confirmation reference, never your full card number or banking credentials.

Incident response

Clear steps if something goes wrong

If a breach or unusual access is detected, we notify affected households within 48 hours, explain what data was involved, and outline the corrective actions taken. A log of each incident is kept for internal review.

Data retention

Your records, your control

You can request a copy of your audit data at any time or ask us to delete it after your plan ends. We keep only what is needed to support your active savings plan and remove the rest.

What the Audit Covers and What It Doesn't

Book a home energy review

Scope of the assessment

Our home energy audit covers geysers, lighting, heating, pool pumps, and major appliances. We inspect insulation, check for draft leaks, and review your usage patterns. The audit does not include structural building inspections, electrical wiring compliance certificates, or appliance repairs — those fall outside our service.

Savings estimates are indicative

Projected monthly savings are based on typical South African household profiles and your actual consumption data. Actual results vary with usage habits, tariff structure, and seasonal changes. We provide a tracking dashboard so you can measure real savings against the baseline we establish during the audit.

Recommendations are advisory only

Our tailored recommendations for geyser timers, LED retrofits, and pump scheduling are practical suggestions, not installation instructions. Any electrical work must be carried out by a registered electrician in line with South African regulations. We can point you to qualified professionals in your area.

Data and privacy

Consumption data you share is used solely to build your reduction plan and track progress. We do not sell or share your information with third parties. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@upgradensave.com.

Service area and response times

We currently serve households and small businesses across Gauteng and surrounding regions. In-person audits are scheduled within 7–10 working days of booking. Remote assessments via video call are available for areas outside our travel range.

No hidden obligations

Booking an audit does not commit you to any upgrade package. You receive a clear, itemised report with priority rankings, estimated payback periods, and optional next steps. You decide which recommendations to implement and when.
